懐かしのスケーター見つけた・・・世界ジュニア選手権

世界ジュニア選手権がドイツで開催されています。

明朝は女子シングルＳＰが行われますが、公式ページの女子シングルのジャッジ
リストを見ると、レフェリーがJan Hoffman(ヤン　ホフマン）の名前がありました。
約30年前に旧東ドイツの選手だった彼はもちろん1977年の東京世界選手権にも
やってきました。

そして1980年レイクプラシッド五輪ではロビン・カズンズに敗れて銀メダル。
その後に行われた世界選手権では金メダルを獲得して引退した模様です。

その後、東ドイツはソ連崩壊とともに体制が崩壊して東西ドイツが統一されました。
ホフマンもどこへ行ったのかわからない状態でしたが、ここでＩＳＵのジャッジと
して表舞台にいることにはうれしいやら何やら、感慨無量のものがあります。

彼のスケーティングの記憶は唯一、ジャンプやスピンが逆回転（右回り）だった
ことです。その時代、共産圏への感情はあまり芳しいものでは無かった時代ですので
いわゆる共産圏の典型的なスケーターだった印象ですね。

さて、東京ワールドではどんな往年のスケーターがジャッジやプレス席に登場する
のか、これもワールドの楽しみの一つです。

ホフマンは名物ジャッジですね。同じ旧東独組ではアネット・ペッチも今はTOとして。
元選手のTOと言えば日本なら平松女史ですが同じように選手にとっては怖い存在には違いありますまい（苦笑）

そうでしたか。昔の選手がそうしてフィギュアに関わっているのはうれしい限りです。
アネット・ペッチといえば、憎たらしいほどにコンパルソリが強かった記憶がありますね。
